Welcome to Morehead Tomorrow

Morehead Tomorrow was formed in 1998. Morehead and Rowan County are proud of their heritage and realize that to protect that heritage and plan for the future, planning is vital. Morehead Tomorrow is a Certified I Renaissance on Main City.

The mission statement for "Morehead Tomorrow" was determined as follows:

Establishing Morehead as a dynamic Regional Center by revitalizing the downtown area, creating a sense of community and providing opportunities for everyone.

The Kentucky Main Street Program is based on a four-point approach developed by the National Main Street Center, a division of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The four components of the program are: Organization, Promotion, Design and Economic Restructuring. The goal of this program is to encourage downtown revitalization and economic development within the context of historic preservation.

In 2004 Morehead Tomorrow was named a "Preserve America" community. Preserve America is a White House initiative that encourages and supports community efforts to preserve and enjoy our pricless cultural and natural heritage.
